October Monthly Update
Well this has been one crazy busy hectic month. So rather than not posting anything, I figured I would give a quick update on what’s been going on with us. Short story: Parker fractured her leg Long story: A couple weeks ago now on a Sunday, I was vacuuming downstairs and my husband was getting ready to go outside to work on the yard. Our daughter was downstairs playing with her usual toys (in her pretend kitchen) going back and forth from the living room to the dining room with her shopping cart. I heard her suddenly crying and rushed around the corner from the kitchen. She was sitting in…
How to Make Starting Preschool Easy: Our Transition from Home to Preschool
10 Tips to Make Starting Preschool Easy For those of you with a child who has stayed home with a parent or close caregiver for their entire life, the prospect of sending them off to school with no familiar face or recognizable surroundings can be daunting to say the least. I know, we lived it. My daughter was home with us for the first two years of her life. The prospect of sending her off along supervised by strangers and surrounded by other rambunctious 2 year olds was scary. Regardless, I knew it would be beneficial for her to start to socialize more regularly with other children and to get…

First Trimester Pregnancy Update
Even though I hadn’t announced my pregnancy yet, I’m wrote some of these updates in advance so that I could remember all of the details for later. I started this at week 6 for me and while I don’t look pregnant yet, I’ve definitely felt it over the last few months. The first week of July was incredibly busy with Parker’s 2nd Birthday and the Fourth of July holiday…so my pregnancy symptoms really hit me hard then with having so much to do and being so tired. The first thing I experienced is the ever-so-common first trimester exhaustion. Even when I go to bed early, I wake up tired and…
What I plan on Buying for Baby #2

I have seen many lists out there for what you should buy as a first time mom (and believe me, I read them ALL during my first pregnancy), but I thought that it would be fun to make a list of what I am planning on buying for baby #2 this time around. I know, I’m weird, my idea of fun is making lists. What can I say? It’s the planner in me. So starting out…we have tons of baby gear that…
32 Life Lessons in 32 Years
It’s amazing how quickly a year has gone by. My little girl is 2 and now I have another bundle of joy on the way. In the spirit of another year passing, and since experience is truly the best teacher, I wanted to do a list of 32 things I have learned in 32 years. I was inspired to do this by Liz’s post on Sequins & Stripes when she turned 32, and I thought it would be fun to do the same. So here it goes: 1. Family is everything and it always comes first. The meaning of this has resonated ever so much more with having children of…
Birthday Inspiration | Sesame Street Kid’s Birthday Party
My daughter has been completely obsessed recently with Sesame Street…in particular with Elmo and Abby Cadabby (or Abby Dabby as she calls her). So I knew for her second birthday, we had to do something related to Sesame Street. It’s been a couple of months since her birthday, but I wanted to share the details with you. Hopefully it helps to inspire some ideas for you as well! On to the details! Firstly, we had a sidewalk chalk welcome. This was comprised of a written out “Sunny days ahead” in chalk with character footprints leading up to the house after it. Such a cute and easy to do idea! Next,…
Our Baby & Toddler Bedtime Routine
HANDS DOWN the topic that I see the most moms talking about is getting a child to sleep. Not only is sleep important because it gives parents a much needed break to finish up other things around the house or have some down time, but good sleep is critical for a baby and toddler to grow and function normally. I would say that the vast majority of Parker’s “bad” days are driven by interrupted sleep or a lack of sleep. So I thought that I would share with you the routines we put in place to help get Parker to sleep at night (usually relatively easily). Having a set routine…
Monthly Update – March 2018
It seems like 2018 is really flying by, and it almost feels like I am in a completely new life from where I started it. I feel refreshed and ready to tackle so much more than I did coming into the year. While I loved certain aspects of my old job, it’s refreshing to have a completely new challenge! The stress has been lifted and my work-life balance is perfect. I hope it stays this way for a little while. So what have when been up to this month? Well I picked back up on my blogging after a hiatus…I even wrote the post I had been wanting to since…
My First Labor & Delivery Story: Parker’s Birth Story
So I’ve been wanting to write this post for quite awhile now. Birth stories are actually the reason I was inspired to start writing a mama blog. You see, back when I was pregnant with Parker I was so fearful of what giving birth would be like…just afraid of the unknown and being out of control…that I scoured the internet reading ALL THE blogs and watching vlog after vlog to hear what other people’s experiences were like. Again, type A here, so even when I knew I couldn’t control everything that would happen, I at least wanted as much knowledge going in as possible. However, it’s evident after all that…
